My 'Expensive' 22 only cost $400 + 400 on glass, so I've got lots of 'room' to go. My B22-FV with a 6-24x50 SF-FFP gets 3/4-1/2" or better @ 50 using SK+. OK for under $1K - so far. The SK+ is the most expensive ammo I shoot so my expectations aren't that high anyway.
I saw a thread recently with a Tikka and Athalon combo and a target that looks just like what I shoot @ 50, so I feel OK for half the cost.
Haha, rimfire. I have more .22’s than brains and spent more on them than a decent truck, surely more than mine is worth. Some days my lakefield mkII still kicks butt despite the broken extractor and $89 cost in ‘89 wearing a 3/4” pronghorn scope. Yet my “better” rifles are (seem) more consistent. Whatever that means.
Again regarding cost $200 would mean I skip a part day at the range shooting .22.
