If you can find it, I recommend getting some HEVI 13 #6, it's pricey but well worth it, I get really good patterns farther than with the ammo I used to use. In the end, get a bunch of different turkey loads in #4,5 and 6 AND shell of all lengths (2 3/4, 3 and 3 1/2), you might think that a longer shell with more lead is better but its all about pattern, I used to use some 3 1/2in shells in my turkey gun and ended up switching to a 3in HEVI 13 shell thanks to a member on here and made it made all the difference, bagged a Tom at about 57yds the next day, I wouldn't even have thought to make that shot with what I was previously shooting.
