Turkey decoys

I've been hunting them for around 25 years and killed my fair share.

I don't know if I would consider them a smart creature, but they can certainly be very wary.

In my opinion, the 2 biggest factors in being successful are location and patience.

Nicest decoys out there....Dave Smith's (DSD) by far.

And mic drop....

LOL, reading this just makes me chuckle, but as we are on the topic of Turkeys flying, I seen the neatest thing Coming through WV the other day. As I was coming down a mountain in the car between two very large mountains as the road went, I looked up and there is a bird (turkey) about a 100yards up flying across from one side to the other. It was a cool sight to see so I agree they cant Fly lol

I just use the old Bobblin head decoy made by buckwing.

turkeys can fly well as the wright brothers first flight
its pathetic like the ppl that think it's a challenge or takes skill to hunt turkeys, not literal
think all the critics are hunters who need excuses for all their failed hunting trips
remember turkeys are dumb birds and if you've been outsmarted by one...........
then there is probably a place for you in the government or as a teacher because those that can't do teach
or they go on cgn and preach

Another literary genius heard from.
If you're going to troll people at least attempt to produce a sentence beyond a Grade 4 level.

Good heavens Jacob. This is borderline gibberish, both in content and composition.

Hope you let him finish at least

That one was 6 yards from the blind. Hadn't mounted the decoy yet.

The first pic I posted that you can see the blind in, I shot that bird as it was on top of the hen decoy.

I have lots of videos but can't figure out how to post them.

I dont know what make of decoys I have. I found them in the back of my garage when I took possession of my house. I have two males one female. In my four years Ive learned that you can really over think decoys.

I won't claim to be an expert on set ups but Ive found that any movement will help look more realistic. On the days where our prized tom comes in like a homing missle are dys when there was just enough breeze to give our hen some wobble and spin.

There is no need for super full chokes.....expensive turkey loads......high end decoys.

Hide well, sit still and be patient.

This year was supposed to be my first turkey hunt, but with the whole stay home and stay local thing, it just seems right to cancel.

Been looking forward to it since November last year...

F that. If our dear leader isnt doing shít different, neither am I. And unlike him, i am forced to keep working and dont have the luxury of working from home in "solidarity".

True. But if I have a bird hanging up at 40ish yards I have more confidence in something like Win Long beards that will put more pellets into the kill zone. This would increase the chances of a clean, ethical kill.
