Turkey Guns, show 'em!!!

Maybe not an issue... but you might want to know when you have historically been able to "get busy..." Looks to be mid-August... smart to avoid hunting season.

Well.... Technically (and hopefully I get the math right)...... This would mean that the December / January timeframe would be the worst time to "get busy"...... All irrelevant since there are no sabots in the muzzleloader now..... So to speak..... :)

Since I derailed the thread, I will get it back on track.... Lol.....

My turkey gun is the trusty 870 express I bought at the ripe old age of 16.... It's been underwater, dropped in the mud, bounced around in duck boats and has taken upland, deer, ducks, geese, coyote and quite a few turkey.......

It now is a dedicated turkey gun and sports a tru glo barrel and Boyd's forest camo stock..... Here is in its original condition with my first fall bird....

And here it is in another previous iteration that didn't last......

And as it sits today.....

Wow! Muzzleloader... impressive... I'm just shooting a Hornet.

Nothing wrong with sleek and built go go the distance versus big, blunt and short range...... :)

Good luck to all tomorrow.... For the first time in many years I will be missing the opener thanks to work...... But will be out duing the week..... Looking forward to seeing the harvest pics roll in..... Turkey hunting is a great tradition..... And an official end to cabin fever for the outdoorsman..... Good luck!

The view off my back porch right now. These 4 turkeys are taunting me - somehow they know that today is safe for them. What's the chance that they're still around tomorrow when the season opens?

Zero...... Did you study their entry point to the field?...... Is there a nice Tom among them?...... What is your plan?....

Yah, they've been hanging out for awhile. They end to come from the west, pass about 40 meters south of my house, and into the paddocks. I'm not sure where they're roosting but they've walked by the house when I'm on the porch! There is one Tom - today he's been fanning his tail quite often. Wish I had a better camera.

Mossberg 535, HS Undertaker choke and I normally shoot 3in HEVI-13 #6, it's taken a few birds out to 50 yards.

Moved to Saskatchewan since last season so it will stay in the cabinet until I decide to make a trip down to Wyoming next spring!!!
