I want to say bag limit is 15 on haida gwaii, but the possession limit is only 5? So while you *can* take 15 deer, if you don't live on the island it would be hard to take your whole limit....(or am i mistaken?)
Also, waterfowl in region 2 is open for quite some time still.
Your right about the possession limit is 5 dont expect to get much for bucks right now but the doe's will still be moving
I'm not seeing wear goat is open but coyote,Lynx, rabbit,wolf,ptarmigan ,cougar ,grouse,geese,ducks,raccoon,skunk,wolverine,HaidaGwaii deer,bobcat,squirrel,raven depending on which part of the province your in

They're one of the dumbest creatures on this earth. Listen for them calling in the evening, then close in. Like many birds, they are afraid of the dark and will roost in trees for the night.
Or, if your dog likes to chase things, take it out for a walk where there are turkeys.
In the spring they will be around thick brush, creek type places. When the hens are broody they like brush.
A 22 with solid (not hollow points) bullets and binoculars are all you really need.
IMO, in the spring, shed hunting is more fun.
How dumb are they? I've had them approach within a few feet and follow me around, I assume because I walk on two legs, like a turkey.
Or, if your dog likes to chase things, take it out for a walk where there are turkeys.

Carver mountain goat is open over the counter tag in 6-14 Aug 1-Feb 28. Open 7 months of the year, and lots of other stuff with extremely long seasons and over the counter tags. BC rocks. Literally and figuratively.

Any budy want to go hunting I'm thinking of setting up a tent next week and cut fire wood and head out for a week or so after Christmas

Well if they're as dumb as you say they are, should I not be able to both shed hunt and turkey hunt at the same time?
You could, there is some overlap between where Elk and Turkeys winter, from what I have seen I would say there is none between Mule Deer and Turkey winter range.
I'd say take the dog for a walk looking for sheds, take a turkey if the opportunity presents, and watch out for woodticks.
Both shed hunting spring bear are more enjoyable IMO. I wouldn't trade a nice Elk shed for any Turkey.
It is very easy to see how turkeys became domesticated.

Turkey's are dumb until hunted and then they wize up very quick. Scouting the areas are very important to make the game easier, but from what I have read above you have some sound advice from the Ontario hunters that hunt pressured birds.
