Never ran into them in the Okanagan, but have seen plenty of birds throughout most of the East Kootenays.

What kinds of chokes and ammo are you guys using?All the reading I've been doing points to Hevi shot in 4,5,or 6's.It's expensive stuff and not easy to find in the Vancouver area,but mind you one or two rounds seems to be all you need.
