Turkey Hunting in Ontario

Hello CGN hunters, I have had my hunting license for a few years have had few good experiences with the people I have gone with.

finding crownland to hunt in SW Ontario is hard I do not know any farmers personally and I am not sure where to go hunting on crownland else where.

I been shooting my recurve bow and wanting to learn to traditional bow hunt.

I am also a gun owner and have all needed gear for hunting.

I would like to go hunting with someone who has the same amount as experience as me wanting to learn with.

if you are interested learn to hunt and go on other outdoor adventure give me a message.

Check the conservation authorities to see if they are open for hunting. Some are some arnt. Some large pieces to hunt bow and rifle
 
Ausauble Bayfield Conservation Area allows hunting on some of their property. I haven't seen any turkeys specifically on their land but they are around. There were pheasants last year as well but I haven't seen any since last spring.

Take a look at the conservation authority that had turkeys before the big re-introduction, they let you hunt and have a number of tracts

This. Various CA’s have their own rules. Some restrict hunting, some allow hunting with purchased permit, others allow hunting without permit.
 
Sounds like you are to lazy to do the work to get hunting land. There are farmers who would let you hunt by asking. Trade some labor for hunting access . There is more work in securing land to hunt, than hunting. If you cant take a no, you will have to buy your own land.
 
Finding crownland / forests is the easy part. Locating the use policies, gobblers and avoiding other hunters is the hard part.

1) check the Ontario crown land use atlas https://www.ontario.ca/page/crown-land-use-policy-atlas
1a) Simecoe county forest maps https://opengis.simcoe.ca/public/
1b) Other forest maps usually have websites..

2) locate the forest/crown land (some forest tracts require separate permits, or OFAH insurance coverage)
3) CHECK THE USE POLICY as some do not allow hunting.

I read the OT's post a second time and I believe he is mainly searching for a hunting partner to share the learning experience. That is obviously not you. LOL
