Well after three years of passing up jakes and missing opertunities on toms i decided that this year, first legal bird in range was going down.
Out in the forest at 6:00am (yes I slept in ) started calling for 2 hours, nothing... tried a different spot, and had an instant responce from a hen, came running in looking for me.... got within 10 yards then lost interst and left. anout 15 minutes later i hear rustling behind me, my first thought was tresspassers, but then i saw the twins.... two jakes came up behind me, i called one out in front of me, about 17 yards, BANG... T.O.D.=830am
a nice jake, and now my family wont make fun of me for not getting anything lol
