Well, I live in Whitby (just east of Toronto) down by the Lynde Marsh Conservation area (which opens into Lake Ontario). After a late night poker game at my buddy's place I ended up sleeping in until 2:00 PM
and didn't go to the range as intended. So, instead, I went over to the conservation area and while driving down towards the lake what do I see?
Turkeys!
Lots of 'em! One obvious Tom and what appeared to be 5 hens, but could have been hens and jakes. All the fellow birders down there were talking about them.
Too bad I can't hunt there, since it's within walking distance!
Anybody else seeing turkeys near the big cities? I know they've been seen just north of here aplenty but this is a first down here for me.
