Turkey Turkey

Took a photo of this "dumb" tom this morning while putting down a track for my Sar dog handler friend. It was alone & gobbling it's head off at 10:30 in the morning. It had what looked to be about an 8" beard. Good luck to everyone this Monday!

went out two nights ago at around 5:30pm during the rain storm looking for turkeys. I find during a good rain alot of birds are out the the woods in the the open fields due to not being able to hear in the forest with rain. Needless to say the dog and I swam up the swamp and came onto an isolated field in weeds and saw 7 males (about 2 toms and the rest were jakes by the look of it). So I have my spots all picked out and have somewhat "patterned" the birds, as they are doing the same thing day in day out. Lots of gobbles too, which really gets the heart rate up!

A buddy and I were out scouting last weekend. We had multiple toms gobbling in 4 different directions.

We got out quick so we would not et busted and walked the road back to the truck. 400 yards across the field, 3 hens and a big tom hoped the fence out into the field from the woods we were just in.

I'm ready to go and can hardly wait!:D

Sounds like heaven. No hunting for me as I'm recovering from dental surgery and one blast from a shotty would probably hurt me more than the turkey. :(
