Turkish Shotgun (Khan Arms) Opinions?

For my first shotgun, I wanted to get a student budget tacticool shotgun, preferably nothing more than a few hundred ($300ish). Although the Maverick 88 would be an ideal candidate, it would need to add another $150 for a stock system, which would bring the total close to $500.

While searching for Maverick 88's, I've stumbled upon Turkish shotguns such as Khan Arms and Hatsan, and was wondering what everyone's opinion was on these? Mind you I'm not depending on this shotgun to defend my family, but just something cheap to plink around with every so often.

Some specific shotguns I was interest in was the Hatsan Optima MP-TS @ $330 (from Tenda) or the Khan Arms A-Tac Spark @ $300 (from TradeEx)
 
I'd go Hatsan, seems to be the most proven and established of the Turkish brands.

I swear that most of these Turkish shotguns are made by the same people anyway, or at least have major components sourced from the same suppliers.
 
You will find many who put down the Turkish shotguns in favour of the American standards Remington and Mossberg.. but have you seen the quality of the Remington express? I have several shotguns, Hatsan included and I will say with confidence that it is NOT junk, in fact it is a very good value and has never had a malfunction of any kind. Weatherby and Winchester outsource some of their shotgun models to Turkey and if I'm not mistaken the Weatherby PA-495 is made in the same factory as the Hatsan MP-tactical. I have heard that some US servicemen stationed in Europe like to bring home Turkish shotguns because they are dirt cheep, but function just as reliably as anything... Im not bashing the Chinese made Norinco, Grizzly etc as they have proven to be a fairly decent product, but I would first go with a Turkish made shotty. One thing to keep in mind is that there is limited aftermarket support in terms of accessories for them though.

Sounds good, I was leaning towards the Hatsan aswell

I'm not really looking for after aftermarket support if I go with the Hatsan route (which I probably am). Thanks for the words of encouragement, feel a lot less anxious haha.
 
Lots of big name brands are actually Turkish made. Winchester and Franchi are two. Some makers are much better that others. I can tell you that the Khan single shot that I have is an absolute POS! The sear actually chipped, making it unusable. I had to heat it, peen it and then temper and polish it. Works fine now but what other components are below par? I wouldn't take a Khan Arms shotgun if it was given to me WITH $20.
 
I have a Khan o/u, my first purchase truth be told. The fit and finish are a bit rough, the trigger and safety/ selector switch needed some work(done at home), I have no regrets and no complaints. I wanted a shooter and not a show piece, it serves me well

I was looking at the Armsan RS-X2 and noticed they looked identical to a Weatherby one
 
Hatsan shotguns, the pumps at least, are similar enough to Fabarm that some parts interchange.

Anyway, I've heard that Turkey produces as much as 50% of the world's shotguns, so they're definately a factor there.
