Turkish Shotguns @ Marstar

KOALORKA;
"I really don't like Turks, or their shotguns"

Now there is an objectice observation, without a doubt it comes from your personal eperiences with these firearms....

Be carefull of any "American" shotguns you may decide to purchase, many are now made in Turkey, the majority are made offshore....

"I'll save my money for an m-305, If they EVER get anymore"

Now tell me, when has Marstar NOT lived up to it's promises ? We have always deivered what we said we would....

I'll be the first to admit deliveries from Norinco have been slow and erratic at best but hey the goodies do get here....

What is the difference between the two O/U shotguns? One looks to have a varnished finish, but that might be just the pic. As well do they use their own chokes, or are they interchangeable with others from different mfg's?

They should really put up some more info about the shotguns.

The plain pic doesnt really make me feel inclined to buy one.

Johnone,

Are these made by Hatsan?? They look very similar.

Well done on the line BTW. These look like an excellent option.

Thanks for the heads up. They are nothing spectacular, but for the price they are deffinatly worth knowing about.
A few of my buddies might be interested in the tactical model.
Cheers.

CANUCK 223;
Well you are partly right, in fact there are only a few factories making shotguns in Trukey....
Infact many of the so called MAJOR brand names are now made there....
S&W being one, Benelli is now owned by and manufactured by Turks.

I was aware that the Hatsan semi auto's were using the Benelli system under licence, but was unaware that there was a change in ownership.

I hope these turn out to be winners. On paper, they rock. The right barrel length, the right capacity, choke tubes, front rifle sight, safety in the right spot (at least for righties).

If they came with a rear ghost ring and had an available side saddle (ARE YOU LISTENING Mr. Beeson!!!) they would be nearly perfect

No it isn't. Benelli is owned by Beretta. Certain Benelli designs are being manufactured under licence in Turkey.

The Turks are currently filling the role once performed by Spain. They make guns to price points specified by importers. When they get less for a gun, they don't make them as well. There's no free lunch. Not even in Turkey.

Where did you get that info from?

The folding model looks like the Hatsan that Frontier was selling recently for the same price.

He's not incorrect in one regard. Many "name" brands are having guns made in Turkey but that doesn't make all Turkish guns alike.

CZ guns are being made by Huglu. Mossberg o/u, Stoeger semi-autos and pumps, some Charles Daly guns come from there. There are undoubtedly others too. S&W's new sxs is being made in Turkey but they took great pains to stress that they have developed their own manfacturing facilities there instead of relying on one of the established makers. Kimber's sidelock Valier is also made in Turkey.

I've seen some serviceable guns from Turkey (e.g. the CZ) and I've seen some real s**t too.

Yes but Benelli is not "owned and operated by the Turks"
