Hi guys...got your Turknelli 2.0.
So far excellent gun, but today the bolt locked back on me and it took lot of swearing and wiggling to get it loose.
Ultimatelly a quick wack with a small dollar store rubber mallet did the trick.

Fired another 30 rounds with no issues, so I figured it was likely one of those "one offs" that can't be explained.

But when I got home and took it apart for cleaning, I found that little rubber o-ring which is supposed to sit around the the head of the bolt takedown cross pin (not exactly sure of the proper technical term, but it is the pin that allows the firing pin to be removed)...it was resting at the bottom (technically top since I had it upside down) of the reciever pretty much ripped to shreads.

What function does this o-ring provide and should I be concerned?
Also, do you think that this was possibly the culprit as far as the bolt being stucked in the open position?

If I understood correctly, that o-ring is to keep the firing pin retaining pin in place.

You can buy one from stoeger canada for 5$ but that's a bit steep for a o-ring I'd say.

Also to answer your question, if that retaining pin got loose and rubbed against the receiver, it could have shredded the oring and at some point got stuck on some ledge inside and by whacking with the rubber mallet you put it back in it's original position. Check if it got bent or if it rubbed on the inside of the receiver.

The o-ring is basically there so it stays tight to the receiver and keeps the pin in place which in your case wasn't doing it's job anymore.

Thank you for the explanation...my cross pin is actually pretty stiff to come out (pliers have to be used)
However the way the seal was sitting, it was only a matter of time...
Intetestingly enough, I had checked pics of the identical M4 setup and this o-ring is sitting exactly the same way, which is kind of squeezed, deformed and only engaging about 50% of the surface...apparently that is considered normal?
Either way I will get another one.
