You are correct, as a "Mainlander" I didn't find them too appetizing, ducks that taste like fish are not my favourite.

Who ever prepared them for you probably shouldn't have identified them as ducks, and thereby unfairly defined your expectations.

Ducks is my term for them, I know that they are not ducks but they look like a duck when plucked. But either way they still are a bird that tastes like fish.
