Tv sport hunting shows

One of my buddy's celebrates like an NFL player after scoring a touchdown from a pass interception to win the Super Bowl. I get excited but more like " wow , that's awesome" but there is no real jumping up and down. :)

I gotta admit I get a chuckle over some of the TV celebrations, but We are all different and nothing wrong with that. :)

After some serious reflection I think that I'll quit jumping up and down, firing victory shots in the air while catching the empty cases in mid-air, fist pumping, whooping and playing air guitar on my rifle. It might be insensitive to the dead animal. Never too late for self-improvement I always say.

Yes I feel exactly like you when I see these "sportsman" they are not hunters just someone with no ethics whatsoever the worst show ever for me was seeing a mountain lion up a tree totally helpless being executed by a bow hunter finally after 3 arrows it died.I have tracked record class deer ,finally catching up to them sometimes after days of hunting ....then let them live. The shows and the people in them are trash.

Houndsmen are a different bunch and its a different game. I'm not in that group but I do know this much. To a dog man, the hunt is the trailing, the chase, the dogs and keeping up. The hunt isn't shooting a cougar out of a tree, its everything that happened before to occasionally get one in a tree. They usually seem to come up with 100 different excuses to not kill things so they can keep hunting. Some places have "no kill" seasons after the regular season and the same guys are happily working their dogs without guns.

Its different. The thing to realize is that to a houndsman its not about the men or the kill. Its about the dogs.

I'm pretty sure that the comments in SheepHunter's post directing us to the young hunter, was meant as sarcasm.
If people wish to slander themselves with immoral comments towards a child and find it humorous , then there is something indeed not right in the attic. Check out the thread I started on "Severe Buck Fever." The responses were not only the right comments, but should be the "only" comments towards innocence.

Wow really!! I am sure everyone on here shows emotions after a kill it is normal. I also think handling the animal after the kill respectfully is also important.

I think the emotion is a fact of life and needs to be shown!!

We as hunters need to support hunting all forms whether we participate in that type of sport or type of hunt or not!! We have enough anti hunters already against us

Staged ... I ve guided enough of those shows to know a little ... do you think when they hunt they act like on camera or even sometimes wear the same clothing they have for the show but not for hunting you may have some surprises lol.

they re selling a product like they are car sellers or anything else. most of them are surfing on a gun and hunting wave, they sometimes don't even support our sport.

I was wondering if you have seen any Canadian shows supporting the use of Ar15 for hunting here while in USA they re giving lessons and banned shows if those shows don't support AR15....

Personally I enjoy a lot of hunting shows, especially shows that feature hunting in Africa or are particularly well produced. I'm not big into shows about guys arrowing 130" whitetails and wetting themselves with excitement or hyperventilating like old Potts does. I always wonder if they would do the same thing if there wasn't a camera on them. My buddy filmed our bison hunt a few years ago and somehow I managed to contain the jubilation. Maybe that was because after I shot the bison I realized exactly how big a job it was going to be.
