I want to buy my wife a 9mm that is capable of being tweaked with a lighter slide spring. She shoots my CZ 75B, she finds my loads are a bit sharp. I don’t want to tweak the 75, because I want to get her, her own gun. I have been looking at a STI Target Master and some different Para’s and Kimbers. She likes shooting a few rounds with my STI Target Master in 45ACP. Being of light frame she will need something that will not have a punishing recoil, or she won’t shoot it!
My quest is to find out what 9mm auto handgun ladies enjoy shooting.
She has her RPAL.

I'm not sure what you mean; if you want to shoot light reloads I think you can get ligher recoil springs for most guns out there.

I guess 1911, steel framed P226 and 92FS should work all having fairly soft recoil.

One thing I would recommend is going to 9mm minor in a open gun...there are several options for that..STI / SVI, Tanfoglio, CZ-SP 01(non open), or you can go with 1911 STI / SVI or 9mm Tanfoglio. However there are other issues..like how big are her hands 1911 type fits very nicely in just about everybody hand...Tanfoglio and CZ SP-01(non open) with slim grips will fit small hands, STI / SVI 2011 with grip enhancement will br OK as well...all of the above mentioned pistols can be fitted with proper recoil springs where it shouldn't be punishing.
You can purchase STI / Tanfoglio from Freedom Venture (or myself) SVI from CRFM(2 alfa) Frank N...(I also can get you the CZ-SP -01). Just to make things clear, STI /SVI have double stack and single stock pistols ether can be made into a Standard or Open gun..Tanfoglio has Open, Production and Standard versions and CZ at this time is available in Production or Standard only. If you need further help I would be more than pleased to help...email me or call me directly.

Update

Ordered a STI Trojan SS in 9MM Yesterday(mar 13), and in 14 weeks she will see it.
Practicing 20 minutes every night with my CZ75B, to be more familiar with handguns when it comes.. First course will be IDPA New shooter orientation/practice. woohoo!

Really nice and a good shooter..

Get her a M&P22 or any other .22LR instead. My wife and kids would rather shoot the .22's than the 9mm and they have way more fun with them.
