Hi all,
I am not new to shooting but dont do much about altering a pistol.

I have a stock CZ85 and want to get some spare parts for IPSC. I was just wondering if I changed the factory springs (recoil and main) what would a lighter/heavier spring do in terms of recoil and trigger pull. Also if any IPSC guys out there, is this legal for production shooting?

So far no problems with gun, but nice to have spare parts. And lastly, what parts are good to have on hand? I have about 3000 rnds through it so far.

Thanks and cheers

Terry

Yes, it's perfectly legal to use lighter recoil and main springs, as long as they are CZ springs.
Lighter main spring will help with getting lighter DA pull while lighter recoil one will allow you to use lighter load as far as ammo goes. You can go as light as you want as long as gun cycles and you make minor power factor at the same time (PF125).
Try going with #14 or #13 for recoil to start with and see if you need to go lower, then may be look into lighter main spring.
Also, you can change sights and put grip tape on as long as you don't modify slide and there is areas where grip tale isn't allowed.

Find and read IPSC Rule Book.
