At the benchrest shoot some said the GPS was incomplete . :)
The complete GPS is N43.43147 -80.7953352
I can not make it because will be shooting the ORA provincials . But this is a shoot that puts a smile on everyones face . :D

Will this event be running again this year? If so what date are we looking at? Anyone here shoot this event before? What can we expect? What kind of numbers usually show up?

They haven't announced anything but I figure it will run again.

As for what to expect, it is a bench rest match with 5 eggs at 300 yards and 10 strung out between 100 and 200 yards. The eggs at 300 are worth more points (don't remember exactly the values) and you only get 15 rounds.

Although I am not a fan of bench shooting this is a fun match and an egg is tiny at 300, the slightest miscalculation of wind or flinch means a miss.

Paul W is working on this season's Match schedule and will post dates once everything is set.
For any club members reading this, maybe give Paul a call and let him know that you'd be interested in giving him a hand putting on
some of the matches???
Thanks
Gord

Hey Gord,
Is it possible to sight and shoot all the eggs from the prone position, or is it mandated that the cement tables be used? My bipod moves around too much on the table.

Good question>I'm sure Paul (match director) could be convinced to allow prone vs bench.Just remember to email /contact him prior to match and get approval.
I personally see no reason why not.
I have a few ideas to mention to him about this years match to keep things "fresh" (like camo'd eggs...:)
Perhaps with enough support we could add a semi class??
Always a fun day.

So far by the latest information from Paul . July 19th 2015 for the next egg shoot . I think quail eggs at 300 could be interesting Gord . ;)

You know I'll be there. If he includes a semi class so much the better. I used my AR last, but only got 12 eggs. - it was the wind - honest.
BTW I think Paul already gets the extra small eggs to set out at 300

I would think if enough people contacted Paul and "suggested" he add a semi class to the recognized lineup,he'd entertain it.
Factory Bolt Class, Custom Bolt Class and Any Semi Auto Class...... sounds ok to me.
The nice thing about having the 163rd Annual Egg Shoot this year is that with enough interest and participation and with proper
pre-planning and some volunteer help,Paul can look at developing the match into always bigger and better.....

Two bad there isn't a second weekend shoot.... maybe a spring and fall shoot. I was super excited about doing this for the first time this year. But the week long kids camp we help run starts on the 18th.... I hope all have fun and shoot well.
