Looking for some twist gain barrels.
There was a run of pedersoli Remington 1858 copys made with twist gain rifleing.
Id like to buy some of theses barrels.
anyone see anything where theres repos with twist gain rifled barrels.
its way better for slow lead bullets in 7.5 inch pistol barrels way less unburnt powder from BP or 2400 loads.
I dont shoot BP but Twist gain was invented because of unburnt powder left in barrels so i have read.
Thats why Remington used it in there 1875 pistols i guess.

i like it with trail boss and max loads to.

Dunno how the twist would supposedly affect the amount of powder burnt.

The theory behind it is to reduce the starting effort to get the bullet down the bore, and to reduce the stress on said bullet to perevent stripping the rifling off it. Also reduce the effect of inconsistent rifling rate of twist, as the last bit twists faster than the rest.

Lots of faith in gain-twist in the Shuetzen world, some in the BPCR as well.

If you want a gain twist blank, talk to Ron Smith in Winbourne AB. He makes some of the best.

Cheers
