What is the twist rate in my new Remington XR-100 Rangemaster? Anyone know? I have seen bullets range from 40 grains to 70 grains. I want to know what grain should be the most accurate. I want to use 50-55 grain bullets. I realize that 50-55 is in the middle of the pack and will probably work fine, I am just curious about the twist rate.

The twist rate of the XR100 is 1:12 in .204 ruger, 1:12 in .223 and 1:14 in 22-250. I have never shot one, but handled one in the gunshop. They are very comfortable rifles. The factory trigger set up was tollerable too.

The Xr-100 looks neat, but speaking as an owner - it's just another remington. The trigger is slightly better, and the stock is really comfortable. Fit and finish is acceptable, not great. Typical of any other mass-produced Remington
