I would take the 4.2" Redhawk over the 686 - .44 is just the ulitmate in versatility to me.
Second would be an auto of what ever takes your fancy - for me it would be a toss up between a Glock or a 1911 of some flavour. Calibre would be dictated by what its primary use would be.
If we are talking about handguns only, keeping two is still a tough decision. I might say to keep my Ruger GP-100 because I really like to fondle a revolver once in a while, and it shoots both the economical .38 spl and .357 mag also. I really like shooting .45 ACP pistols so it will be a tough choice as I really like my S&W 1911 or my M&P. (If we had CCW in this country then my choice might include my G19).
Only two sucks, but if I had to pare it down, it would be my Ruger GP100 (4.2" SS) for sure, and then I'd have to flip a coin between my P226 in 9mm, the P220 Equinox .45, or P226 SS Elite in .40......I don't think I'd be happy though.
I'll never regret selling my last wheel gun (a stainless S&W 66-2)...after so many years I've found that revolvers are not what I'm shooting regularly ...so they are gone now.
* not looking back to own another one, for sure revolvers are "not my cup of tea"...
