Two firearms in the field or one?

Yes, this is one of the advantages of owning a combination gun or drilling, or even an insert that fires a handgun cartridge. Or a reduced load using a pistol bullet.
 
Here in BC you can carry as many rifles/shotguns that you want and it is very common to carry a small Chipmonk 22 rifle in your pack.

I have carried my 16.5" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 22LR along with my hunting rifle for years now.

I used the 22 quite bullets they didn't have the killing capabilities of LR but kept the noise down a lot.
 
so if i understand right, i can hunt partridge with my shotgun (loaded) and have a .22 on my back (unloaded) just in case? thats legal in middle ontario?
