Two more sleeps till my new actions come in.

Looks like you have to sand down some flutes for Black Clouds, I only see one non fluted right/right in the pics and I know your not giving him mine!!:p:D

The Actions Look great, Looking forward to the finished rifles.:D

Actually I was at "The Bat Cave" yesterday. The non-fluted version with the mechanical ejector is already registered to me:evil: To bad, so sad:eek:

Your's with the remington ejector and fluted bolt, however, looks almost as nice:D

If its any consolation, I'll let you shoot mine just to see the difference.:nest:

I think the VBull bottom metal is incredible. Having handled it and the Badger, I really like Ed's set up. It has been very well thought out and built like a tank.

Just so LRC doesn't go through withdrawl, I thought it would only be fare of me to post some pics of my action,,,,,,,, the one with the non-fruited bolt / mechanical ejector.

I must say BC, that I like the look of the plain, unfluted bolt better the the fluted ones.................That is a VERY nice action you have there..................I look forward to seeing the end result in June at the Chilliwack match!!!

I have toyed with the idea of switching to a Surgeon/Nesika/etc, action, but my good old Remmy 700 action still keeps me in the game :p ;) :D...................maybe one day soon...............;)

I have followed the development of the V-Bull DM set up from Mark one - Mod 0 to it's current state and I was impressed right from the start. I have seen/handled most of the versions and it is a well thought out & designed system.

SKBY.

We didn't expect the stocks to show up quite so soon but our friends at McMillan worked overtime to turn out a combination that truly fits like a glove. See for yourself.

There's nothing holding this gun together and absolutely no dremeling or milling was done on the stock before I took these pics.

Three stocks showed up today; all of them black, two rights and a left; and all of them spoken for. Sorry BC, yours is still coming. LRC at least has a stock.

Since BC took so long deciding what kind of stock he wanted, LRC, your gun will probably be finished before his anyway. Maybe you both want to put your halves together and shoot as a real team. The problem then lies in who gets to carry the bullets and who gets to shoot. I'm sure, you'll both be able to come to some sort of agreement before the BCRA shoot.

Thats ok, build his first:runaway:, work out all the bugs, chamber the last barrel with the dull chattery reamer:eek:, then drop the new one on the lath and build mine:cool:

Absolutely, BC needs every edge he can get......after all look at how the BCRA course is set up, I believe the Police end of the shoot only goes to 200 meters:p. Guess I'll bring my new Kimber Tactical Ultra II .45ACP for that part of the match.:p:p:D:D

Jerry, regarding the left bolt right port, my 338LM AI is like that and I found it was refreshing to be able to drop rounds in with my other hand and watch them load with my non-shooting eye while still looking through the scope. The short action will see a ton more range time and being that it will have 10rnd mags, I'll be focusing more on quicker followup shots then with the 338. The 308 will get well broken in before your fun shoot in April. My new 338LM AI will also be sporting more MOA of elevation so we're all hoping to drive our bullets a little further yet then last year if that works for you.

Thanks Glock for that info. Very interesting indeed. Yep, that 10rd mag is going to be way too much fun. Saved enough money for another pipe????

Well, last year there were no conclusive hits at 2000yds and we can go to 2000m (2200yds).

OOOOOOOOOOORRRR, we just ease the rifles over and shoot the next shale pile at a bit more distance. I am guessing that 2300 to 2400yds is a possibility.

Haven't been up due to snow but will go and range areas if there is ability to go beyond 2200yds!!!!

Nothing confirmed yet due to family and work but I am hoping to have a shoot in early April (1st or second weekend). There is only a moderate snow pack on this season so spring will come sooner then later.

It will be cold but if we go later in the spring, the quad/horse/hiker traffic will be super annoying.

I will make a decision on the shoot by the end of Jan.

Got REAMERS :evil::evil:

Think 4" OAL so only a fixed mag will work me thinks.

Nice rig guys....

Jerry

No I don't have a reamer for this one yet. It looks like I'll be getting in on the group buy of Rock Creek barrels and get that coming. Just gathering stuff so far. I'm not sure about the single shot route, I'd like to have it mag fed.

fozzy, I HAVE THE REAMERS....

At least you can make the 338 Mystic which is pretty much the same thing.

With a longer mag box, you can make a repeater. Brownells was carrying such a beast.

Or you can go with a 338 RUM AI which will get you to Lapua+ performance. This will be a bit easier to stuff in a mag. My reamer will make this quite nicely.

Got to build a stock and finish my 338 Mystic one of these days.
