Two pistols, same make and caliber?

My pair of G17s, I don't know why I bought the second one but just like someone said, it wasn't enough.

I have 2 P226 in 9mm. One German made and one with the German frame/American slide combo. Don't know why particularly lol. The German one is fully stripped at the moment until I find some time to cerakote it.

My preference is to have multiples of guns. I don't always, but only because I can't always commit another $500 or $1000 at any given moment.

It is so if one breaks, I have an identical spare with holster/mags/etc ready to go.

I have done this a lot with rifles as well. At one time I had six M14s...two long range, identical setup, two shorties, and two in factory config.

I don't shoot much .308 anymore so I only have one left. But anything I'm shooting a lot of, I try to have multiples ready to go in case I need them.

On the other hand I know I take a fairly different approach to guns than most. I have no interest in collecting stuff at all and am perfectly happy with a few handguns and carbines, say, 2-3 ARs and 2-3 Glocks. Having all kinds of individual stuff just doesn't really interest me.

I belive in N+1, as a minimum, when N is the number needed.

My wife and I each need a car, so we have 3 cars. When one is broken or on loan we have a spare. This also allows for some different vehicles. Sedan, 4x4 SUV and a pick up.

With handguns, by having 2 of each, you get to have two different sights, if needed, but the holsters and mags all still work.

Some guns you just plain really like. I have a soft spot for wingmasters, even though I have 4 already I find myself reaching for my wallet whenever I see one at a good price. I had 10 lugers at one time, none of them would be considered museum quality, just daily shooters, and I think about 4 of them I never ever fired a round out of them

i have all of the glock 9mm's.... 1xG17L gen2, 1x G34 Gen4, 1x G17 Gen3.5, 1x G17 Gen4, 1x G19 Gen2, 1x G26 Gen4... and a G21 Gen4 + G21SF Ambi Gen3.5.

my competition gun is the G34 with the G17 gen4 as backup.... then the gen3.5 g17 as further backup if needed. I like glocks though and love shooting the piss out of them and do a lot of loaning for courses or new shooters as well and the glock platform is great for that.
