1. I have an old .22 Hiawatha single shot,I would like to convert it to .22 Magnum. Can this be done?
2. I also have a sporter .303 Lee-Enfield MK4 No2, I would like to convert this to .45-70. What would this entail? Would I be able to use the stock mag? KD
 
Your .22lr might be strong enough and long enough for a simple reamer conversion, but I recommend against it. There is a slight bore diameter difference, and your new rifle would have a loose bore for the Magnum bullets.

The SMLE can be turned into a single shot 45-70 with a new barrel and some work to the extractor. Magazine feed would be a problem, and likely need a radically altered mag.......
