Two stage triggers

Yes that would have been a Canjar single set trigger... quite popular in the 60's and 70's mostly for varmint/hunting rifles... I bought my first one in 1966 for a small Sako action 17-222.

Your Sako probably had a Canjar, single-set, trigger on it. Canjar made great triggers.
I have three match rifles with Canjar triggers but all are single stage triggers .
i have owned two that were single sets - both on Ruger single shot rifles and they were also fantastic .
anytime I see a rifle with one on it I am tempted to buy it just because!!

I've got two mid-1950s Husqvarna lightweight rifles. The triggers are slightly different. On my 270 it is a single stage trigger. It was kind of stiff when I had it into the shop for something else and the 'smith tweaked it a bit, lightening it up for me. The other, a 7x57; has a light two-stage pull that I like a lot.

But then my first rifle I got at 14 was an old Ross with a two-stage trigger and I just got used to that kind of trigger.
