This may be a silly question, but....
I am replacing my 2 piece scope mount on my Savage 1o FP, with a single rail, and I have run into a problem
The back mount came off fine (two hex screws) the front mount however, only has 1 visible screw and when I removed it, the mount will not detatch.
Have I gone full ret%$d?
Please advise

is it a leupold 2 piece? IIRC there is a screw under the ring on the front base. If not its possible somdebody jb welded or epoxied the base on. Try heatng the whole base with a soldering iron then giving a couple firm raps with a rubber mallet.

so the rings are off the bases and you can only see one screw..........
we need a picture of this..........

Here are some pix
Am I missing something?

you need to take something 1" in diameter and put it in that ring and twist 90 degrees. Don't use your scope cause it could bend or dent it. Sometimes their tight. Use a 7/8" deepsocket or there abouts and an extension. or a piece of 1" dowel. the screw is under the ring on the front side of the base.

I can see the second screw under the ring in the pic.................take the ring off of the base..........

the ring is a push and turn type ring, if you turn it 90 degrees it will be free from the base exposing the screw.......

Thank you gentlemen
I have only ever dealt with weaver style rings and bases so I was having a DURRRRR moment and was very scared to force anything
Thanks again for your help
