Note, that TI has stated they are working on a slant brake for 2021 LMGs for release later this year.

i wouldnt be interesed in paying $49 for a slant comp when i can get vz58 brake starts at $55 or a flash hider from corwin for $35.

I am in the same boat. The slant brake is probably the least effective and least effort option they could have done with. Especially considering the price... They charge $150 for a few pins and springs so I am really not surprised.

Very useful for those going for the "AKM" look.

And those who want to reduce some muzzle jump without making the gun louder.

Unless I'm standing firing fully automatic freehand I've never been impressed by a slant break. I really should save the only time I've noticed a slant break working is under those circumstances.

I fail to understand from a physics standpoint how full auto vs Semi auto would yield different performance. I personally dont think it does. They arnt meant to be impressive. There meant to be intermediate. Cheap, durable, easy to clean, easy to make and easy on the ears.

I do get why people would want a muzzle device that compensates more. Hopefully an M16x1mm AK74 muzzle device enters the market in the near future. Or some Western designs.

Just to confirm for everyone, I have tested a VZ58 brake on 2 LMGs, a 202020XY and 202017XY and I can confirm that the 202020XY works with the M14x1RH, and the that 202017XY does not (I assume it is M16x1RH).

serial number up to and including 20202000 are M16x1 RH. TI slant ($49) and kodiak brake ($81) will fit or use a tufforce adapter (us$28) for 5/8-24.

serial number from 20202001 plus are M14x1 RH, all VZ58 muzzle devices, corwin flash hider ($35) or colonel mustard brake ($55).
