Type 38 Parts

Hello Everyone!

I recently picked up a rather nice Type 38, unfortunately it doesn't have its dust cover or cleaning rod.

I would love to find the two parts to make it complete, I am aware the Type 38 dust cover was a true to form for its intended rifle. Swapping dust covers from what I have read seems to result in ok, to a rather mediocre time while using it.

A cleaning rod is well, just a cleaning rod.

I have found online a few stores that sell reproduction and even lucky enough to find OEM covers, which would be a guess if itll actually operate well with the cover.
Finding these in Canada is likely as rare as hens teeth just laying around for sale.
I understand importing from the U.S. any sort of component is a headache all of its own.

What would be the best course to find a cover / rod?

Love the Japanese type 38s & 99s, I see parts for sale all the time online down in the states. Don’t beleive it would be an issue if it’s just those 2 components to have shipped up. As for finding parts here, it would definitely be a good luck situation!

I’d stick with an original suppose to reproduction, you can still pick up originals for a fair price too and arnt so uncommon to find.
