So my type 81 showed up and it's bent. I heard this was an issue before... is it safe to fire? Anyone else from the second shipment have this issue? It's a full wood btw.

I heard they put over a pot hole and drove over it and everybody laughed and laughed. But seriously that sucks

My order arrived complete last Monday and I couldn't be happier.

The shipper for TI missed sending out some of the pre order bonus slings. I am getting mine mailed out and there may be others as well.
Rifle is otherwise as good as it gets. All the mags fit and function as they should.

My sling and mag are missing but I just got a reply they will send it out to me

Bent or not I never even checked I just blasted rounds outa it. It was a little more Chinese then I was hoping, really ugly heavy and loose, but I'm happy to have it for my collection..... If I could only have one it would be AR or VZ long before this one lol.

Picked my T81 up at the post office today, got all my mags and sling too. Looks straight enough to my eye, really like it so far. Shout out to Nadine at TI for the fast email responses to when I needed to change my shipping address, thanks for the help.

Is this worth the price difference over an sks?

Sks is 1/4 the price, can be better quality, milled receiver, better sights, much better sling, faster to reload, and just as reliable as the T81.

BUT the T81 is cooler and better for the zombie apocalypse. That being said, I bought one.

The barrel and receiver are misaligned, the stock might be a bit as well.

Contact TI and ask them how much it has to be out before they consider it defective and will replace it. Then measure it to make sure it meets that standard, elsewise you'll just waste your shipping sending it back.

These are not precision rifles and some degree of misalignment is considered acceptable in a mass-produced cheap stamped receiver rifle. C'est la vie.

FWIW, unless you plan to mount a receiver scope, it's won't affect function - all the sight parts are on the barrel, which is likely straight.
