**TYPE 81 7.62x39 Service Rifle** ~IN STOCK -NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Sks is 1/4 the price, can be better quality, milled receiver, better sights, much better sling, faster to reload, and just as reliable as the T81.

BUT the T81 is cooler and better for the zombie apocalypse. That being said, I bought one.

I like the SKS, but it's no T81. The T81 has a much better safety, is lighter and handier, takes magazines without stupid duckbills, and has adjustable gas system and pistol grip standard. It's a more feature rich gun.

It would be like saying a Remington 742 is better than a FN-FAL because it's cheaper and shoots the same ammo. That doesn't make it true to most people who would have to use one.

Got mine today.....definitely not straight and I can’t get the bolt back.....

Cycle the safety switch while pulling, mine was like that till I fiddled around with it....even though the gun was greasy,I found the bolt needed oil sprayed on it,I also had gas selector between 0 and 1, noticed after first shot

Received mine today, gotta find time to shoot it! Came with all the mags, sling, oil bottle, quad rail and extra pair of pieces for folding stock.

:sok2. Wow I just placed an order. Really hope its not a quality issue. Please keep us up to date on your progress with this.

I flipped the safety switch as a member suggested and now it all functions perfectly. as for the bend, it sure looks bent but i tied a piece of string straight and put it up to it and it seems to be mostly straight

An SKS isnt faster to reload than any mag fed gun.

When you look at these from the top, there is a bit of an illusion of a bend due to the bolt being exposed on one side and the cover on the other.

I do like my Type 81 a lot, NO regrets buying it at all! .... BUT that being said, for the same price as a Type 81, you can have a HIGHLY modified SKS which could have a fully adjustable stock with pistol grip, duckbill'ess mags, AK mag release, a threaded muzzle and brake, improved trigger, a scope mount AND a reasonable optic. The gun might not be lighter or better balanced, but it would have better parts support, have no misaligned parts lol and shoot twice as accurate.

To anybody reading this, you should honestly buy BOTH tho, buy an SKS because its an SKS, and everyone should own one..... and buy a Type 81 to really scratch that NR AK look alike itch you might have!

I think what you meant to say was. The gun IS lighter and better balanced. I've never seen a SKS that had one of those plastic stocks that wasn't front heavy.

In the words of another gunnie on here, the Type 81 is comparable to an SKS if you consider an AK47 to be the same thing as an SKS, or a mini-14 to be the same as an AR15,or a Savage hunting rifle to be the same thing as a Remington or Weatherby.

haha like most of my sentences, its not worded the best; but it is worded right. The highly modified SKS might not be lighter, or better balanced than the Type 81, But it WILL be better made and twice as accurate.......... is basically what I stated there.

I've never fired an SKS that was more accurate than a type 81.
