Adapters will look out of place and will be a dead give away the bayo was fitted.

Extending the handle in proportion to the barrel wont give anything away unless you have a 2nd SKS81 bayo beside it to compare.

Would welding an inch long sleeve to the front of the barrel/muzzle ring do the trick?

It will work but that will be permanent, might be tuff to sell the rifle after cuz some might not want that.

What about a removable sleeve?

Aye, can't avoid dead give away. I do realize the bayo is only $30 and individually you can but I'm thinking for the masses, the adapter might be a better idea .

Similar to the Ar carbine bayonet adapter on eBay.

wonder if I buy a dozen of these 30$ bayos, Fix them add new wood to the handles and sell them for 200$ would be a good business venture... lol...

Actually once I do mine if its worth it I might just do that.

The AR carbine bayonet adapter on eBay doesn't look out of place and it cost only $35. I'm thinking that where the t81 bayo adapter should sell for .

I think there's only one or two people on these boards that would pay $200 for that bayo, just because it looks cool and they have too much disposable income... lol!

Besides, the handle would look like it's made for a giant. You'd have to extend the blade too if you want it to look proportional and sort of right. In the end, you'd invest more time in each bayo than it's worth... and people would still b*tch that it's too expensive.

A removable adapter (lug extension) is the only realistic way to go.

So I presume the bayonets are not full tang.?

Then price it down a bit, allowing for taking unmodified as cores, so you keep stock on hand to make new ones, as they sell. Once you have a pattern to roll with.....

Here's another cool accessory... the Type 81 bandolier ($16.99 USD shipped):
