I'm fairly certain I will be refinishing and staining my wood furniture a gloss AK red.

Great minds think alike.. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to mimic the stain; I Was going to use the rit dye method but they changed their formula and apparently it leaves crystals on the wood now making the finish lousy.

Now October 2017 Thanksgiving Weekend...Where are the T-81's

Hi! Fellas!
I have a pre-order for the T-81 with a solid wood stock.
A friend of mine had a curious question....
Tactical Imports has been taking pre-orders for this firearm for a long time.
So now... all these thousands of $$$$ are sitting where? And how does all the
accumulative interest translate into a small rebate for all of us? Or even
a gift card of some sort for accessories? Or does this just become pure profit?
And my question is....When are we going to get this firearm?
Thanks

Here we go, it was a stated pre sale to retain rifles. No rebaits nor deals will be made. Not being a #### just saying fact. You paid for a rifle that is hard to obtain they are doing so ? Your money is exactly where you placed ffs

^ If he paid for it in full and didn't get the goods after multiple missed delivery estimates, he has the right to inquire about the whereabouts of the item he ordered. Just lately, end of September turned into October 11th. The point about the money generating interest over 2+ years is also valid... it did generate interest for someone, just not him.

Not saying TI is doing this, but one could actually make a scam out of something similar, albeit they'd have to do it on a bigger scale: invent a credible story for a highly desirable item people will want to buy, collect payments up front amounting to x millions of dollars, invest all that money wisely to generate interest and, after a couple of years, reimburse all your clients their initial payment while keeping profits from the interest for yourself. This probably wouldn't even be illegal to do, lol... since everyone is getting their money back in the end.

Anyway, buying a Type-81 is like buying a Tesla, lol... pay up front and wait till production starts in 4 years, maybe, if all goes well. ;)

I am quite certain that type of scam is illegal.

It's only illegal if someone thinks and complains about it. If the story is well thought out and clients believe that the whole thing was legit (as in: the goods they ordered were undeliverable in the end due to force majeure), then the scammer is laughing all the way to the bank. After all, all customers get their money back... so no one feels like a victim. ;)

Could not agree more. Not saying it's illegal, but definitely not a fair business practice, for consumers.

LOL some of you are absurdely petty and childish.

Preorders for guns in Canada are known to have these delays.
The offer from TI didn't promise that these delays would translate into interest being paid to customers.
But if it makes you feel better, the interest generated by $1k over 1.5 years is lower than the price of an extra mag, a sling, and a $50 store credit.

If you have your panties in a knot over this gun, its value, or delays of a preorder, then either don't buy one or ask for a refund (which was always an option).
Some have evidently chosen to go full retard instead...

Youza.

I agree 100%. I also called TI this week and turned my $50 store credit into 2 additional Mags, only cost me like $10 extra. So that stacks up to 3 extra mags total and the sling, as a pre order bonus.
I believe TI is handling this project as well as can be expected of anyone.
THANKS TI!

Yes, perfect... let's devolve to name calling again so the mods re-lock this thread. Great idea.
