Pretty sure it’s just EE, I’ve sold tons of militaria, accessories and few guns on here and have bought a bunch but I still have a lower score even know I paid promptly and always delivered on time and provided tracking. I ask at the end of every transaction if they could take the but some just can’t be bothered no matter the experience unfortunately.

Ah, that's crap man... the least these "busy individuals" could do is take 15 seconds to type up a good feedback rating after you make sure they get an easy transaction from you, that could've otherwise caused them to lose much more time and grief.

Maybe the EE mentality has changed lately, but I never had that issue... well, except with one Fudd. There's always one, lol.

At least the ones I do have are really good lmfao

I don't want to sound smug but with all the stuff that is happening with the SKS, I believe this was a worthwhile purchase. But for all the people trying to talk people out of this saying an SKS is a better purchase, I don't think that is 100% the case right now.

What's exactly going on with the SKS? You know something we don't? Is it Canadian Tire head office pulling it off the shelves, like they did in 2014 after they also peed their pink g-string panties in fear of something inexistent? The SKS is safe for now... and until there's a law saying that it isn't, it's not good to speculate too much.

Besides, the T81, vz58, T97 and a TON of other "scary rifles" would be put on the chopping block LONG before the SKS. Gun control in this country is all about the image of what the gun looks like, not its' actual functionality (because that would actually make scientific sense, so we can't have that!).

There is literally dozens of scarier NR rifles out there that keep hoplophobes up at night... the SKS is far down on the list. The only thing it has going against it (or for it, depending how you look a it) is its' sheer numbers. The fact that there are so many of them in NR circulation also makes them a lot more difficult to find, therefore to enforce any new b.s. dreamt-up Lieberal policy against them. No matter what they decide to do, they'll never find half of them.... but it will piss off every gun owner in the country, because quite a few own at least one.

Less locations to pick one up and less options when buying one. CT taking them off the shelf makes it a little harder to buy one.
Make no mistake this is just CT recalling stock could be CT:

  1. Ridding of all the crappy SKSes that won't sell (maybe restock with better product at a later date)
  2. Trying to stem public outrage by not selling the SKS anymore (or at least for the near future)
  3. Possibly put SKSes behind an online order distribution system where you can't choose your SKS to remove SKSes from stores or
  4. Possibly SKSes are a loss-leader that take way too much time and money with near no profit and may actually lose them money for the amount sold

About 2 months ago LGS had none in stock only CT had some (2?) in stock. With CT done there won't be a local option for me or anyone in my area until LGS restocks.

Anyway I am just glad I bought a T81 can wait to try it out.

Exactly. I'm in the CCFR facebook group, and posts #####ing about the CT's stop sale just pops up every 20 minutes fresh, non-stop.
I for one couldn't care less about sub $300 crappy surplus rifle, nor do I care how CT operates. If a rifle is worth less than a fancy dinner that's supposed to soften the wife up and maybe get the green light, it ain't worth the money and time.

So I know this has been talk about before but, hey. I thought I'd ask again. What does everyone plan to feed their 81 when they get It? Also I'm assuming there is no one who's just bought one to look at it right!

I imagine most people will feed them anything they can find that is economical for the most part. Also I'm assuming there is a lot of people who's just bought one as a collectable just to look at it !

Nothing going on with the SKS right now - that is just CGN paranoia. The issue with Canadian Tire and Canadian Tire ONLY.

having said that the SKS is NOT a better choice than a type 81. The Type 81 is several decades newer design with newer technology and innovations built into it. While the Type 81 has some similarities internally to an SKS, it is NOT AN SKS nor is it even close to being an SKS.

I've owned several sks over the years including a D with a factory thumb hole stock and 16" barrel. All in all I found it a crude but serviceable rifle, a poor substitute for the AK I couldn't buy, but when the VZ hit the market in 2005 it was game over for my sks. I'm patiently awaiting my type 81 to finally scratch that AK itch for good, I have no plans to own another sks regardless of price. It is a good rifle for what it is, but not badass enough looking to float my boat.

My initial plan was to run the cheapest rounds I could find (purchased in bulk) through it.

Sadly, after some short email exchanges with my local gun club - they told me anything that gets picked up by a magnet (bullet - not casing) was a no-go at the club. It took a pretty hefty search to find bulk NON-steel core (aka lead) rounds. It also increased the cost by about 40-50%. I'll have to save my cheap steel core for the bush. It was a big pain in the butt, and basically the whole benefit of being able to fire old cheap milsurp (Steel core) was lost.

Wow sounds like a crappy rang. My range provides a rake style magnet on a broom stick so we can more easily pick up our steel casings.

I believe he means the projectile, not the case...our range does not like people rocking the plates with steel core but it is permitted as far as I know...
