So does Western Metal, a site sponsor.
TY, was thinking of dressing the front end the way it is on the pic, kinda Cold-War era. Retainer for the wood forend is still there, just hidden inside the plastic. As for the finish, was thinking of degreasing and coating everything front of the trunnion with black ceramic/epoxy from WheelerWhat's the plan for the forend? Leaving the front sight? Refinishing barrel?........... So many questions lol
I really hope you're going to use the spare parts to build a 7.62x39 T97. If you do, dibs on buying it!
That donor T97 is being transmutated into a 300blk launching machineThe pistol length gas system keeps throwing technical challenges at me so the T81 project took precedence for being simpler and faster
Too bad! I've always thought a 7.62x39 bullpup that took AK, T81, or Vz58 mags would be freaking awesome.
That conversion would be 8 out of 10 on the complexity scale. 300blk is easier to build and is also (in my opinion) the most versatile round ever invented.
Clown Lord had created a real vacuum on the 300blk rifle market. l just wanted to have a 300blk rifle that is short yet non-restricted, capable of cycling both - subsonics and supersonics
Tell me about it, I have a brand new 300 blackout build safe queen at the moment.
If you want to use the barrel, gas block, and handguard , as well as butt stock and pistol grip, from a Blackout safe queen in the interim, you have a svelte future option and a brick like current option. SBI is developing a direct gas impingement BCG for their soon to be released Lynx upper, which they intend to match the sveltness of their 180 Lynx lower. The now available DI alternative that would allow the same re-use of parts is the brick like Jard J180 build kit, available by phone, email, or in store at Sylvestre Sports.
