That poor SVT
haha. But yes, that might be worth trying! The Chinese were able to make the dragunov in .308, so I’m sure an SVT-40 conversion to .308 would be possible.

Had to reman the oprod from the hard stainless barstock from ebay. This procedure is not needed for the AR-barreled conversion. Pressed the T97 flash suppressor back on. Above is the stock T81 for comparison.

Will start a new thread soon on the T81 LMG conversion to 6mm ARC. Should be a very quick project, as bolt head and the magazines remain the same. Already made the barrel from .243 tikka sporter, by chopping off the .243 chamber and cutting a new one in 6mm ARC

In the meantime, the 6mm ARC frankenrifle is getting closer to a completion. Tikka 22" barrel, free-floated handguard, bulky luth-ar buttstock. Don't like the look of the buttstock, want to use something lighther-looking.
Hoping to get 1moa from her, using handloads

Thought of it for sure. Longer gas system of the SR is good, limited options for stock replacement is something that stopped me from exploring that path. I like folding stocks and short rifle bags. This fugly LuthAR stock is just a placeholderEver thought of sticking a 6mm ARC barrel on one of the T81 SR's to make an even more franken'ed Dragunov? lol

That would be awesome. My limited trials experience with it was awesome - pleasantly low recoil and smooth operation. I wish we had the 5.45/223 AK's here. Sigh...I wonder if we can get Norinco to make 5.56 81's if we ask nicely enough and show them a few optimistic powerpoints
