I have been hunting across this country for a type 81 with a fixed stock with no luck. I’ve sent out a few emails and have gotten some replies from various retailers about the folding stock version. Lots of friendly retailers out there, which is nice but they can’t help me with a fixed stock. My question here is would anyone know when the next batch is due to arrive? Or maybe some stock from a retailer I don’t know about? I’m also very curious if anyone has installed a fixed stock to their folding stock unit. My option may be to purchase a folding unit and affix a rigid stock if possible. Or maybe change out the folding piece to a “fold under” unit instead of to the side. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a next batch

Really? So these type 81’s were a one time production? Seems like a waste for the Chinese to build these to Canada spec for a few rifles. Doesn’t seem very cost effective. But good to know as I don’t want a rifle that’s is discontinued, won’t be able to get parts down the road. Thanks for the heads up.

I would consider trading you my beloved Que Son ( a folder type 81 SA ) for a Luger Artillery in 9mm IF you happened to have one "lugerman" haha

Haha yes you and a few others I’m sure. I do have one and a standard issue as well, but I won’t part with them unfortunately. The German WW2 firearms is the only reason I have my restricted, my grandfather was in the last Great War, he was a flak 88 gunner. He was gifted a Luger by his commanding officer in the SS. Although these ones I have aren’t the same ones, I’ve always enjoyed German firearm technology. The AK was designed off captures STG44’s. But back on topic haha, might have to resort to a folding unit and make a stock. Just leary on purchasing one if there aren’t anymore being produced.

Keep an eye on the EE, I see them come up there occasionally. I have a folder, works fine and a hoot to shoot.

That's awesome! The luger artillery is my dream pistol, some day I'll buy one.

As for the folder converted to a fixed, I wouldn't count on it being anything less than difficult. To remove the folder, youd have to grind the rivets off the rear, and slide out the rear action block/trunnion. Then machine up a new one or heavily modify the original to allow a fixed stock of some sort to mate up.

From what was said from the first preorder batch, these were made for TI while doing a production run of military rifles
No one knows for sure how many TI got made but when they run out I don't think more will be made unless there is another military order of type 81s

Those navy Lugers aren’t worth that much unless they come with the but stock. Just the pistol by itself is usually half the standard issue 4” barrel. But some people think their worth gold haha. I personally wouldn’t spend over $1000 on one unless it came with the hardware.

Ok thanks for the heads up. I build engines so I’m good with modifying and machining things. Looks like it’s doable just curious if anyone has attempted it before. The more I dig in to this rifle the more I’m stepping away haha. Just because of the lack of support, I love the rifle, just scared away at availability and future parts. Will see what happens as I’m hearing all kinds of gossip, some say no more type 81’s some say maybe a batch late 2019.

Yes that’s what I’ve been hearing a lot as well. Kinda discouraged at the moment. Hate buying something without support or info.

If you end up with a folder I'll trade for my fixed stock.

I would do a straight trade for my perfectly straight un-fired fixed stock for a perfect un-fired folder!!

Wow ok thanks guys, nice to see people willing to swap straight across. I’ll make a decision in the next few days if I’m going to invest in one. I’ll keep you guys posted and may do a trade.
