Has anyone found a reliable way to mount a flashlight? I have seen some cheap barrel clamps on amazon but nothing from a reputable dealer. I also have the Kobra and mounting plate, but id like the option to mount other optics. Has anyone tried mounting a AK74 side mount to their heron optics base plate?

someone create front guard with mlock that can help you for that.
 
For those wanting to stay mostly wooden handguard, but needing some non-zero keeping MLOK,do you think a 3-D printed block with MLOK slots, possibly with a built in foregrip, that attaches via a well that has flat end with a hole in it that you pass the main handguard screw through might work? I'm envisioning a felt lined arc along the top to cradle the handguard and stabilize the mount. You could have too side slots for flashlights, and either a bottom slot for a bipod or handgrip, or a printed foregrip. Would modern printed polymer handle the stress?
