Type 81 LMG defect

I recently purchased my first gun, a 2020 production Type 81 LMG. I'm very happy with my purchase, however I thought I should post about this imperfection with my rifle.
The bolt is a different finish from the bolt carrier. The carrier is the proper silver finish while the bolt is a dark gray or black finish.
I've contacted TI and they have told me they believe it to be "purely cosmetic".
I haven't taken her to the range yet but the bolt is serial matched, the extractor works and the gun cycles and locks up properly.
What kind of finish is that on the bolt? Do you think it will inhibit function in any way, or cause increased wear on the bolt?
I'm not actually upset at this, I think it looks unique, like heterochromia. Sure is a lot better than getting a bent rifle. Just wondering if I should be worrisome.

The rest of the gun looks beautiful. What should I name her? I was thinking about something that starts with Ru, as in ручной пулемёт but I don't know chinese names very well.

One of my LMGs has the same. I wouldnt be too worried about it. There are lots of differences between models. Different alignments different extractor cuts, different finishes, different parts, different tolerances, different threads.

It's a AK type action, it will function full of mud, sand, dirt even iced over so different metal finishes should be of no problem for it . If it that much of a bother for ya get some fine steel wool and some thiner/dissolving fluid of some kind . Or just enjoy the difference and shoot the hell out of it.:ar15::wave:
Oh! And depending on the ammo you will using the action will get blackened all on its own so every thing will blend in just fine . I am not able to tell you which brand or country is the dirtiest but they all will leave some fowling residue.

They were all defective from the start - apparently there's a defect in the fire control system. If you pull the trigger and hold it back, it goes bang once - then it stops. WTF is with that?

Since it's two toned... How about 'Badger' in Mandarin: Huān? Or skunk: Chòu yòu. Panda is kind of a mouthful so forget it. Blackface? Also a chore to pronounce.
A name 'matters' but don't be too uptight about it.

I might be able to go shooting soon, I'm relying on my friend to take me since he has a range membership, and I don't. Picked up a few extra mags yesterday. I'll get some Norinco non-corrosive next time I go to Tenda. I was thinking about modifications to the rifle, what I have planned in the short term is a barrel clamp mount and a nice flashlight for use as my HD gun. Here's an image of what I'm semi-seriously thinking of doing, I'm sorry if you throw up in your mouth upon seeing this image

Yeah at this point I personally believe it'll be a non-issue

Yeah I think I've seen some photos of type 81 bolts that get pretty blackened after shooting. I like how open the action and gas system and everything is though. I feel like the engineering that goes into how a rifle field strips and cleans is something a lot of people overlook when arguing about which guns are better than each other.

I'm still choosing a name, I like the concept of naming her after an animal with a black and white color scheme. I like Chou you but I don't like skunks. Could also try fu shu (opossum)

A Type81 LMG for HD? Even a folder would be kinda pushing it for length, and that long SVD-style birdcage makes it even worse.
Lower handguard could just be swapped with a homebrew palm-swell, like Murray got for his folder. That... whatever that is it's just wack.
Just... buy a bakelite grip or something. Red's a good color, it's fast, so that's perfect.
Mag release thingamajig just gets in the way, believe me. Better practice reloading by slapping the empty mag out with the full one instead.
Rest is to taste, wherever in hell you found it.

Shame on you

Haha, I just meant for HD because it's my only gun right now. Eventually I'll get a Benelli supernova Tactical 14", and mount a light on that, which would be the more ideal HD gun.
I already ordered the mag release, so if its crap, it was only 10 bucks so not a huge loss. Also I ordered a section of picatinny rail (picatinny to M-lok) that I think I would be able to screw into the lower handguard and put the nuts in the channel that the cleaning rod goes into.

Went chooting
shes a joy to shoot

also I put on new furniture, already posted a pic in the type 81 modifications thread
