Does the side folding stock require an entire new trunnion in the rear like an AK, or is it simply a bolt-on unit? Does anyone have a good picture of the assembly?

Pick up a rail and red dot and you'll be in heaven.
Its a whole different rear trunnion. The hinge and locking mechanism is literally forged/casted into the trunnion shape.
That's sad. After getting the full stock one, I should've got the folder I think.

The magpul Zhukov folding stock can work with some minor fitting.
Well, it was requested I move my updates over to this thread. I just received my T81 yesterday and plan to start modifications during the fall and winter if work allows the free time.
The first modification I'm starting with is a short throw safety lever for the right side of the rifle.

I'm running into a few bumps in the prototyping working with wood and plastic as I dont have the ability to turn metal. If any machinists have some time to help me progress the first part of the process, send me a message.
I'd be interested in doing a small run of these if I'm happy with the final product, but I know they won't be cheap.
if you plan on doing modifications, aftermarket stocks in particular, then go for the fixed stock. It's easy to adapt akm stocks to fit it, and it's possible to make your own if you want to. If you're just going to keep it bone stock, i'd probably go for the folder,
I'm in the position where I'm going to have a folder and a fixed stock. Which one should I keep? The other will be sold. Also, will I need to shave off some metal if I want to fit a KCI drum?
