Type 81 Rifle Barrel Profile Under Nade Launcher Sleeve?

No it steps down to .561" OD about 1.3" from the muzzle. Then it steps back up to .569" OD for a couple inches in front of the sight block.

 
Can the muzzle be threaded as is or does one need to turn it down slightly? 0.561" is 14.24mm so if I wanted thread for 14x1 LH do I have to turn it down to 0.551"?

I was looking at some kits with the cutter, die and starting pilot but by the time all is said and done I'll be into the tooling for a few hundred. It would probably just be cheaper to send it off to a smith to get the work done.

A little more research says min/max is 13.974-13.794mm (0.5502-0.5431").

Those tools are hard to get out of America as well.

I payed Hical to do mine like 4 years ago. They did a good job, and it only cost like 60-80 buck back then.
