You read my mind. Shorten the barrel to 18.6", turn the OD down to 0.590 for an AK front sight, and thread the muzzle to accept an AK-style brake.

Also, once I get my hands on one I'll start working on fabricating the idea I showed you in PM for the VZ.

It should be sweet ^ you'll have to figure out a way to get a Bakelite grip on it.... or a wooden one if your shooting for the 47 look. Should be simple to mount one.

There is a vz58 LMG, but really it is just a longer barrel like our NR with a cone flash hider similar to the vz59 and a bipod. Not hard to replicate.

Klec LMG.

I like the front sight of the LMG better, cause it does look more "a la AK" (or RPK), but the front sight mounted at the gas block on the rifle looks "a la galil", although an entirely different sight design, it shares a similar profile and I like it...

I'm sure once i'm done babying my Type 81, it will eventually end up in the bush with me, so with that possibility, I prefer the standard rifle configuration, and I definitely don't have Bfiles's pocket book, so I had to pick one...

If it's as shoddily built and finished as the current 81s slated to hit the market, I have absolutely no desire to spend more than $400 on one.

This is why there is no section on the poll for "I don't want either"

Because it isn't about those that don't want the gun. It is about those that do, and finding out where their interest is primarily directed to.

I take it you've seen one in person? A production version? The "shoddy" well used and experimented on prototype?

I have a fixed stock one on order and will definitely be buying the LMG version when they arrive unless for some reason, they come with a crazy price tag of over $1500 or something. I'm glad they didn't come out at the same time so I can now try and get my debt in order!!!

Honestly there aren't a lot of parts that are different. Stock, sights, barrel length. Should be close in price.

Here's hoping.. don't forget about the possibility of a drum mag, bipod, possibly different muzzle. Plus some may try to gouge for "cool factor". As hard as it is not to buy into the presale, I really do hope this opens a competitive market. It would be great to see some other dealers bringing in different models and finishes. Honestly, I'd throw my wallet at the first dealer to bring in a blued LMG.
