Type 81 sr....

Too bad u have include a mount combo. Id order just the base rifle and flashider with some mags. Maybe i could still order and then sell the optic and mount separately lol

The barrel appears to be missing the ugly step for the cleaning rod retainer and bipod. Studying the pictures closer its definitely a stew pot full of previously seen parts and new parts. The only thing id change out is the buttstock for one styled more like a PSL. Rn they got a weird but still attractive SVD PSL hybrid vibe going on lol. And the optic mount is also very weird. I dont understand why they made a new one... when the Kobra rail they already have paired with the NPZ PO 4x24mm-1 shouldve worked out. Instead they once again made some proprietary thing that may work fine with the PO 4X24mm-1, but now sits far enough ahead that many AK optics will have poor eye relief or be sitting over the ejection port.

Yeah, I feel you. I still have a POSP scope but what do I do if I don't have the mount? That's why TR discontinued the mount.

I couldnt resist, ended up ordering one anyways. Its essentially a Type 81 LMG with the barrel layout i always dreamed it would have lol and of course some changes at the back.

You could order the Kodra option, sell the Kobra and then presumably use the POSP (in combination with an AK base clamp) on the rail that came with the Kobra.

I wonder how long those will last. TI really blind sighted us on this one. This was my only WANT for years.

I've wanted an SVD forever. Sadly that thing is only in 762x39, which is total CRAP for anything long range. Not sure why they wouldn't have gone 762x54R?

Realistically that rifle is not worth having in 762x39 except to have one but that's a lot of coin just to have one. Typical 762x39 loads are total crap for long range shooting. A 123gr flat based bullet at ca. 2500 fps will basically fall out of the sky at maybe 400 yds.

If Polytech / Tactical Imports can figure out a 762x54R version of this rifle, I'd be all over that in an instant.

I wonder how the quality will compare the the se red ones and the lmgs? I found the lmgs to be much better quality than the red ones and im hoping these are aswell

i will suggest you to look online about the tabuk to find you can strech a little the tiny caliber and you may be surprised by it ...

Ballistics are ballistics. 123gr flat base bullet at 2400 fps just isn't going to be effective to any kinds of long range.

I run 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tips, which are a way better and slipperier bullet, at 3000 fps out of my 308W and it is OK out to 700 yds but falls on its face at 800 yds. This load is a much better bullet going 600+ fps faster and it is marginal to any decent distance.

The "effective range" of the Tabuk is listed as 600 yds but that is hopes and dreams from my personal experience running that general class of bullet in a bigger case.
