Type 81

I sortov thought the LMGs were ugly at first, but i have to admit now that the look has grown on me. Especially when its paired with a RPK mag.

That's because TI still has the lmg in stock. Once they are sold out they will be 2000+ again
And thats why the regular ones are over 2000, can't buy anywhere else other than the used market

Tenda just listed a shipment coming in. But you are right.. if supply dries up. prices rise.

Any troubles with the RPK mags?

Where did you get yours from?

You're right looks a lot better!!!

Not sure, i was just reflecting on others who have posted pics of their LMGs equipped with RPK mags. For the most part, AK mags can be easily modified to fit the Type 81 using nothing but a dremel or file. There are how to vids on Utube about it.

i have a LMG on the way and itll be hard for me not to slather it Rhodesian rifle paint like the FALs of years past. so resale isnt my thing really haha.

murray keep us up to date with that rail idea. i love the concept in your videos but not super keen on drilling holes in my rifle.

Thanks! Rn im waiting on various components to arrive so i can start converting my LMG into a Tabuk Sniper styled rifle. Also waiting to see what TI rolls out for a scope mount. I read they are first going to release a 1913 rail version, then " eventually " a railed version that accommodates side mount optics. The problem being I want this thing done by Spring, so i dont have time to wait for eventually to arrive. And theres also a chance TIs side rail setup may not be designed to my liking. So i may start drafting up my own version soon, get it CNCed and possibly sell versions of it on the market.

i will on for sure if they can mount straight with no drilling.

I’ve got a T81 fixed stock and I love it and have never had an issue. Always wanted an AK and while this isn’t, it definitely scratches that itch for me. Yes, sellers are trying to make money, just look at the used prices for a G36 or an SKS-D. Again, love my 81, but it is definitely NOT worth 2K plus, If supply was plentiful maybe 6 or 700 max used.

look up the valmet and let s talk about it in 5 years if nothing bad is happening to the t81s ...

I doubt. TI couldn't chew the big order, so Tenda had to step in. LMG was overpriced to begin with. I doubt Tenda paid more than $1,000 for the LMG with 2 mags and drum - Chinese owner. I know how they negotiate.

.

I was fortunate enough to get one a couple months back for $1500 folding stock and almost brand new. Prior to that I had resigned myself to perhaps paying at most 2K but the guy who sold it to me was a straight up a decent guy and just wanted fair value given its availability. Enjoying the AKish itch.

Still mystified by the hype on these antiques.....I think about the Quality firearms I could buy for the money these cchhinese stamped press fit rifles are selling for...

In the states I could buy any Arsenal Milled AK for less. But it is what it is. This is what's available. Supply and demand, free market economics. Buy it if you want one but dont overpay.

Tbf them not selling for $2500 second hand doesn't mean people don't want them for $1500 new

Well... the whole gun market is ridiculous these days. Way to much hype and politics feeding opportunists. I won’t participate in the whole EE circle jerk... investment here trying to make a measly bit of money. Pfft. (I especially like the “I want to recoup the taxes I payed” yeah right! You payed the taxes already, that’s your problem)

The real money is on milsurps... not newly made old stuff.
