Type 81M... Folder or Fixed

Do you use a red dot and does it stay at zero well with the quad rail?

Also how is sight picture if you use red dot in scout position?

Thanks for responding.

My SE fixed is with a quad pic rail handguard now, rock solid and easy to maintain. I tried sigma mloc hanguard+extension before, but I didn't like all those tiny screws that I had to constantly tighten. Quad rail has big M5 screws and you only need to remove 4 of them to clean the gas system and they can be tightened with enough force to stay in place. I don't like TI hand guard aesthetically, so I never tried it.

I have a side rail and a x2.5 prism optic on a side mount now, but I did try a red dot on the quad handguard previously and it held zero for me very well. Quad rail locks up very tight with the barrel clamp in it, there's no need to separate upper half from the lower (it hinges open on the front screws) and you can mark the screws with witness marks to make sure you always tighten them the same way. That really helps in holding zero. Sight picture was fine for me too.

If they're sold at a premium I wouldn't buy, even though underfolders are my favourite. Not because I don't want it though, its just low on the ever growing list of wants

Understandable... just don't assume they have pallets of 6000 units. I don't know either how many they have, but it could be another strong seller and sell out.

That SR was ugly as hell, this one looks pretty damn cool.

If they ever get to $700, I'd probably buy a Folder for sure. Next factory batch could look like a Geo Metro again, like the SR then the T81M will be like GOLD.

Last question forgot to ask it - does the quad rail get hot to the point of need gloves to do a c clamp on fore end or too hot after a few mags dumps. Reddit says the mlok version does. Thank you!

Never happened to me, in fact it's quite beefy and it acts as one giant radiator and really helps to spread the heat into the air. Mloc is much thinner, so it did heat up quite a bit for me as well.

Bottom line:
The underfolder looks cool.

We can't own Yugo, China, Rus.. Ak unders. We can own this.

I did the same thing with the SR and the LMG versions. I already owned an 81 folder but the others looked cool. We can't own RPK's or SVD's but the 81's scratched that itch. So now I own 6 of these various 81's so TI knows exactly what their doing, getting rifles in that Canadian gun consumers want. For that I tip my hat and crack out my cc.

If they make a rezzy Type 81 Krink I'll buy that one too! Hint hint!!!

I'm hoping for a promo price. $1200 is more than I'm willing to spend on a T81, but if they cut the price by 1/3 like they did the other ones not too long ago I might not be able to resist.

There is an unfired original version T81 listed on ####### for $2200. I guess that one is off the table.

There like Pokémon, gotta collect them all XD A Krink/AKMSU, or a 5.56 strikes me as being the next market voids to fill as well. People are of course begging for longer cartridge versions the most but I bet factory willingness in China and possible Canadian new FRT classification politics are major blockades for those to happen. I cant see how the current receiver could withstand or even fit the likes of 54r and 51 NATO.

stay with the folding stock boss, you can always sigmaco it out and get whatever stock you want. The folders are more likely to retain or appreciate in value as well, as I think they just sold out. If not for anything its the cool factor alone justifies keeping it

if you wait for sigmaco parts you're never going to be able to get them anymore. just saying.

i dont see any "LOL" in your statement so you're serious. what a waste? that dude is so mechanically inclined.

Seriously, who even joins these and other extremist movements these days? They are all infiltrated with govt agents top to bottom.. unless you are a govt agent yourself, it's just guaranteed trouble.

Fixed all the way. If i want to add my vz 58 side folder to it later i can. It also folds the correct side for use with side mount optics.

if y'all are interested, a quick google search will find you his arrest records and everything. I went down the rabbit hole and researched the group and everything and ####'s messed up

Yep, did that too. Sounds like sigma parts are now collectable items, if all what I found holds water.
