Type 97 Classification Issues - PART TWO

I wonder if the registry vote in Parliament yesterday will be a good or bad thing in terms of us getting our Type-97's? I can see someone up the chain thinking now, "Hmmm, those scary black rifles won't have to be registered???"

Almost a year and a half with my 1000 bucks sitting in Canam's account, waiting to be turned into my Type-97 :) ....can't help but wonder.

We were close to having the long gun registry repealed early last year and a whole bunch of scary black rifles were coming into the country. Obviously something had to be done since they were:

INEXPENSIVE

"BULLPUP"

NON-RESTRICTED

How would the RCMP track all these scary rifles?

So they came up with a way to deem them prohib...sort of...since their official position is that the "legal classification of the rifles is currently under review". So there they sit in legal limbo...it should not be allowed, but who has the money to fight them?

Were there problems with the rifles?

Well, that depends on how you interpret the law in this area.

If you check threads surrounding Marstar's VZ 58 problems, issues with legal ten round pistol mags for the Brugger and Thomet TP9, classification issues with the CSG5 and a whole host of others you, will find numerous inconsistencies with the way the RCMP interprets the law to suit their agenda.

They are still working on it....not giving up....

Im still holding on that I will one day be decimating the gopher population in the pasture near the farm with this rifle, thus my money will stay in the coffers of canada ammo for the time being...
I want my damn gun though...

i hope they get this sorted, this is gonna be bigger than the vz. 58 if they finally make it in. i called canam but the person on the phone was not informative at all about the issue.

I see new posts on this thread, click to see whats is up and had my fingers crossed that Santa had arrived early, and the T-97's were finally released!
