Well as a black powder shooter and usually non black gun guy I was very pleased with the performance with this gun my only other semi is a Mini 30 the trigger is a little tricky to get used to but In over 100rnds of american eagle and some home loads with 50gr nosler ballistic tips I had no failures with this rifle . Cartridge over all length is very important with this rifle if you are going to hand load I loaded them to the same OAL as the american eagle black box tactical ammo and had no issues with feed . The american eagle produced a better group than with my hand loads LOL. Here is a 10 shot group at 100yrds and with iron sights I think this gun shows great promise but because of the trigger pull and concentration needed to shoot a good group I think I was pushing it at 10 rnds as I started to open up after the mag change for the second five rounds this group was shot bench rested on a bag .Honestly this is the first time in along time a new rifle got my attention and excited me and I was not disappointed .

I'd say that's a pretty impressive group for the type of rifle. I've heard talk of one site sponsor having these in the warehouse but not listing because they're waiting possible reclassification. Anyone hear of this? This is from my local shop keep who had direct contact with said site sponsor.

This one came from north Sylva last week to my Local store no possible reclassification mentioned .

What is the best 100 yard/metre groups so far with the recent batch of NSR T97's?

I'm going to say grapefruit size with the Norinco surplus ammo I have been using... If the front post was MUCH thinner & the rear peep a little bigger, I think I could SIGNIFICANTLY improve that...

Cheers

You'll have to wait for Justin to get in, for the reclassifications.

Ugh it's pretty scarey to think about it. Was at a social function a couple years ago and he was the apparent guest of "honor". Wanted to spit in his face and tell him he's the POS, the pompous ass.

If money were no object I'd have one of these in a heartbeat not only to stick in the craw of liberal fudds but also because these are proving to be quite good rifles. Would love to see guys lugging these in the woods as hunting rifles just like I'll be doing with my VZ 58. With the kind of groups you're describing Jay with quality hunting ammo these could be close distance varmint rifles. Set up with optics I wonder what could be achieved.

Sorry, don't know much about these rifles... do these have a 10rd pistol mag option, without machining or are they just 5 rounders?

Yes, they can take the LAR15 pistol mag without any mods & as such, can legally & easily have 10 rounds in them.

Cheers

The mags every one seems to have problems with are the P mags or so I have read I have 3 mags all three are the metal ones pinned to 5rnds one that came with the gun and 2 different all three seem to work well .

Fun rifle indeed, and so easy to pack and handle. Waiting for my rails and RDS to arrive. 25m OK with iron, 50m is stretching, 100m forget it.
