You are also ruining your firearm using Norinco bi-metal jacket.

Just curious how many guns have you shot out or herd of being shot out by using bi metal jacket ammo( the guys that shot 10k rounds through 4 ARs dont count, they shot them till they were red hot ) how many shot out sks have you herd of? All surplus is bi metal and some people have shot tens of thousands of rounds through them without harm.

Can we just throw this myth out the window by the time you shoot out a gun you have saved more then enough to buy more.

You know, I was wanting to get one of these..they're cool 'n all for a 'black rifle'.

I have yet to really own a black rifle(the closest i have is a Ruger SR22), and i guess an SKS..but i'm talkin about AR style..
So i went ahead and did some homework.

Since this T97 doesn't really have any aftermarket parts, i just can't justify buying one of these, over an AR as a first black rifle..

I think that if you have AR's already, the T97 would be a welcome addition, but if it's your first black rifle, i'd say go with an AR.

You don't "ruin" your firearm by using a bi metal jacket. It simply wears out the barrel a bit faster.

I thought Canada Ammo said a while ago that if anyone will wear out a gun with ammo bought from them . They will buy that person a new gun!!!! So start shooting!!!!

Do you love your gun range? For me it takes an extra hour to get to and then there's a line to get a slot. Then if you want to re-set a target you're waiting half an hour.

The Type 97 is NON-RESTRICTED. Drive into the bush and shoot it. Big advantage.

Damn, the NR status is so irresistible!

That's the big plus on this one for me. I don't want to have to drive out to the range every time I want to use it, as I would with an AR.

I can't wait till I get mine. Wear out the barrel ... pffft
