Type 97 Optic options (with Pics)

I'd like to get a red dot with a 2 or 3 MOA dot. My thinking is that you should get reasonable accuracy out to 100 yards with the T97, yet still have the advantage of wide field of view and fast target aquisition. Can anyone recommend a red dot that has a low profile and is in the 200 price range?

I think the Nikon Monarch goes down to 1 MOA and is about 250 USD, but haven't been able to find much online about it locally.

+1 for the Burris FastFire. I have one of these, and I think it's great. It's metal, unlike the JPoint on my acog which I love. These sights are nice and low-profile.

If you get one with the 'wings', it will be very rugged.

I find the T97 looks clunky anyway, and putting a large scope on the carry handle makes it look awkward

I watched a video of the Burris. So the red dot stays on the target no matter what angle you view it from ? I imagine this would make for some fun shooting.

They caught my attention because they look so low profile. I can just tell an Eotech would stick out like crazy on the T97.

I really wanted to put a Fastfire II on my T97, but I cheaped out and bought a Bushnell trophy 4 dial-in crosshair red dot from Wholesale sports for $96 to try.
When it falls apart I'll buck up and get something better.

Has anyone considered the Bushnell TRS-25?

reasonable price, 3MOA dot. The only question is how it would mount.

Has anyone else found that the longer we wait for the T97, the more accessories (mags, optics, etc) we seem to be buying for it???

Bushnell TRS-25 retails for $181 cdn at P&D.

Thanks for the tip on the holosight though!! That would be another great option to consider.

I'm thinking Chinese gun = Chinese sight... I'm going to grab one of the Aimpoint CompM4's... eBay here I come... I'm still taking the redneck approach to the 97... and I'm buying accessories for something I don't even have yet...

Check this place out... I got a Tasco scope from here for my sniper rifle.... dirt cheap... and ninja fast shipping... I found them on Ebay, then they give you this website which is even cheaper after you buy something.
