Anybody having any issues with their type 97 slam firing? Occasionally mine will dump a full mag with one trigger pull, tried a very detailed cleaning, with particular attention paid to the firing pin channel, but no luck

For norinco m4 type or 97, unwanted multiple taps are quite common, because they don't check up each gun before delivering to dealers, mass production poor quality control, large number returns from purchaser always happpens. It cost me a lot of trouble each time I buy their products, but each time I can solve the problem by carefully tune up the gun, sometimes its alot of fun to try to understand the design and mechanism then make some minor changes or upgrading some parts , good luck.

I have never heard of this with a T97. Interesting. I would check to see if there is a broken case in the chamber. I had that happen in an M14 and then it slam fired and went full auto on me and basically blew up. It could easily be something more simple and is hopefully something less dangerous.

I have a Tavor and T97... And, while the Tavor has ergonomics I prefer, namely the safety in the RIGHT place, the T97 actually gets used more...

For the price, the T97 is a heck of a lot of FUN!

Cheers
Jay

Not disrespecting. It's on the list... too bad I'm vested in 7.62x39 at the moment,

First off I don't own a T97, but I am not going to a be Dic* about it.

If a semi auto is dumping a whole mag than I would have a closer looks at your trigger assembly, something might be interfering with the sear or the trigger.

start with this T97 disassembly video https://youtu.be/WOUHdIDpKD8
